Board of Directors & Advisory Council

Ending fistula takes more than expertise.

Maternal Dignity Project brings together decades of experience in global health, nonprofit leadership, philanthropy, clinical care, and community partnership. Our leadership and board help steward the organization’s mission while keeping the people closest to the work at the center of how decisions are made.

Executive Leadership

Executive Director

Bonnie Ruder

Bonnie Ruder co-founded Terrewode Women’s Fund in 2014 and spent more than a decade working alongside TERREWODE in Uganda to strengthen a locally led model of comprehensive fistula care.

That experience helped shape a central belief of Maternal Dignity Project: sustainable change happens when local organizations have the resources, trust, and long term partnership they need to grow on their own terms.

As Executive Director, Bonnie leads Maternal Dignity Project as it brings together the reach of Worldwide Fistula Fund and the depth of Terrewode Women’s Fund into one organization committed to locally led, holistic care and prevention.

Board Leadership

Tracy Spitznagle

Board Chair

Tracy Spitznagle

Tracy Spitznagle serves as Board Chair of Maternal Dignity Project, carrying forward her leadership with Worldwide Fistula Fund into the newly unified organization.

Her connection to the work also extends to medical education. Programs developed through Worldwide Fistula Fund included physical therapy education and the Urogynecology Fellowship in Ethiopia, initiatives designed to strengthen local clinical expertise and help trained professionals teach the next generation.
